Hello there,
I am a New Yorker looking to move to LA. I've been researching Manhattan, Hermosa and Venice Beach. I'm a massage therapist, but want to work part time doing massage therapy and part time doing something else interesting. I'm also looking for someone to room with. I'm looking to spend 7-800 in rent. I don't know too many people in LA. Someone with common interests would be best :) Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thu, February 7, 2008 - 12:29 PMWest Side Rentals is a good place to start if you are lookin' for your own place.
I do have a friend who is looking for a new place and roommate... I think she's trying to get that sooner than later though. I’ll see where she’s at.
Oh yeah, cool pic of Jerry btw!

Hey there!!
Well as a recent transplant....SF Bay Area to South Florida to the Los Angeles area.....
I think that if you come here with a friendly and open mind, be outgoing and have a positive attitude? Plus the fact that you are an LMT?
You should do great here!! :)
I do not know about Manhattan or Hermosa...but Venice? A VERY cool and quirky place...almost an alternate Universe/Micro-cosim in and of itself here in LA...which means...it is funky and cool and outta control!! :) I love Venice and Santa Monica too
Rent-wise?
I would check through Craigslist, the LA Times and LA Weekly Newspapers
Research, Research, Research the areas you want to or are even thinking about moving to....you are doing a good thing already by asking people here locally their opinion
Also...a HUGE thing to be aware of?
Traffic!!
If you are going to find a place to Live AAND Work? I would do a 15 mile radius search of places to live...20, 25 or even 30miles? You are going to suffer MAJOR road rage from the way traffic is..especially when it gets HOT here in the summer time :)
Hey!
I hope this helps?
Drop me a note back if you like?
Always like helping or offering help to people who are in need and are cool
